Know When to Fold 'em

February 9, 2018

“It’s not whether the glass is half empty or half full, it’s who is pouring the water. The key in business and success at any endeavor is doing your best to control your destiny” –Mark Cuban

The first month of 2018 has ended and we hope everyone is sticking to their New Year’s resolutions and planning to reach their goals! This week’s newsletter highlights the importance of selecting the “right” clients and transactions to do business with. My brother Josh was working on a potential listing for a house in Los Angeles when he started going over the listing process and the client immediately interrupted to let him know how he was going to run the sale process instead. Super Bowl Sunday? Days on market? Who cares - let's host the first open house anyways. Despite the prospective client's interest in working with Josh, my brother decided to not pursue the listing. Now, I want to be clear, we can accommodate the vast majority of clients - however, we ultimately have the luxury to pick and choose who we work with, something that our best clients understand.

minngo as an agency thrives in connecting people to reach shared goals. Real estate agents can sometimes be pushy or aggressive to win a listing, and to a certain degree everyone wants an agent who is willing to fight for them at the table. But, you also want someone that stands by what they know! The key difference that separates us from the pack is in our approach to working with clients who align with our mission. We may be unconventional in our negotiation strategy when closing a deal, but we hold firm in our belief to fully commit to our clients. Our continued promise to you, and all of our team, is that we choose quality over quantity! Go get ‘em next time Josh!!
