Happy Friday to all the loyal peeps out there!! I apologize for the lack of posting this month but as I always like to start the day with good news, I’d like to announce that on August 15th my wife Brittany and I welcomed our first child, Asher Evan Landis. As I settle in to my new daddy duties, I still find the time to keep current with real estate trends. While the lil Landis sleeps, I wanted to put together a few points on the seller’s market and what’s to come as we enter the end of summer.
With the steady increase in the interest rates since the beginning of the year, we are still seeing the demand for houses with an overall shortage in the inventory; ie a seller’s market. Each day we can read about sky-high prices but don’t be discouraged if you are looking to buy in this market. Below are 3 tips to follow to help you find your next home.

Expand your Search
Location, location, location! But in some instances, the inventory is low and we need to expand this search. As more people begin to spread out, there will be more opportunity to find a house you can make into your home. Remember to keep an eye out for school ratings (check our blog about it) and be sure to check the distance from your work to any new area you find.
Time is not always on our side, therefore making it super important for buyers to be willing to view a property when the house hits the market. All of our clients will have a template offer ready to go that we can then quickly send over for signatures before submitting. For a select few who have seen my creativity during the offer process, I have mastered the art form of submitting offers to become noticed.
No fix, No problem
We understand the fear that people have when buying a property because they want things to be as perfect as possible. Sometimes the little things can add up, making the house appear to be more of a fix than a turnkey home. In most instances, we will submit our offers to have contingencies on the home passing inspections, however, there are cases where some elbow grease or a paintbrush can get you into the home you love.
